About US

Fries

We are a fast casual restaurant. What does that mean? It means that you order at the counter and we make your food to order. There are no pre-prepared items living their life under a heat lamp waiting for someone to consume them and there is no waitress to tip.

We are probably most often described as the ice cream Shoppe; however, I think this description does us little justice. We are SO MUCH MORE! All though we do sell some incredible ice cream that is well worth a road trip to Morrow County. I like to describe us as a well balanced restaurant. A balance of all the foods your taste buds love but your waistline doesn't.

We have pizza, subs, hamburgers, french fries, ice cream and much more. We proudly bill ourselves as "Not Your Mama's Home Cookin'!" You won't find any meatloaf or mashed potatoes here but we do have a killer Buffalo Chicken sub.

Our shredded chicken sandwich is proudly our most famous, as it is the best kept secret in central Ohio. For those of you not from these parts you don't have a clue what you are missing. I didn't realize until the past few years that outside of Morrow County many people have never even had the privilege of eating a shredded chicken sandwich, and many more had never even heard of it. Well let me tell you this in simple terms "there is nothing better, period".

Even though we are normally titled "the ice cream Shoppe" a customer once told me "I find it so odd that the best pizza comes from the ice cream Shoppe". This statement is no surprise to me because our pizza dough is made fresh by hand each day. We don't use any frozen pre-formed crusts here. We make our sauce daily with the same great recipe that that we have been using for 20 years.

We purchase our hamburger fresh daily and press our hamburgers by hand. All our burgers are served on a hot toasted bun with just the toppings you order.

We have Vanilla and chocolate soft serve ice cream and run a different special flavor each week during the summer. This is the real deal here. NO FROZEN ICE MILK! We have all the toppings you could possibly need for your ice cream: Chocolate, Strawberry, Pineapple, Banana, hot fudge, caramel, peanut butter, marshmallow, butterscotch, black raspberry, nuts, whip cream, crunch cote, chocolate dip top, chocolate chip cookie dough and many more. You can order it off the menu or make up your own crazy concoction.

We have over 30 selections of flurries ranging from the dull and undaring Oreo and M&M to one of our signature selections the PMS flurry (a combination of chocolate ice cream, hot fudge and M&M candy), and yes you can order it any time of the month.

We offer dine in or carry out. Many of our regular customers will call ahead and have the order ready for pick up. But your experience isn't truly complete without a visit inside of the restaurant. Be sure to read all the signs and check out our employee shirts where our attitude is sure to shine through.

History

Always a business man and an entruenpernuer at heart, Steve Maceyko Sr. saw a niche for himself during the spring of 1954. While living alongside the busy state route 42 he envisioned a refreshing roadside stop; a frozen custard stand! After discussing this new idea with his wife Pearl, her conclusion was "he had flipped his lid". This didn't deter Steve as he made his way out into the front yard with a pick and a shovel and began to build his dream. On June 14th 1954 "The Jeri Ann Drive Inn" (named after the couples youngest daughter) opened to a whopping $25.90 in sales. Today, we are still in the same spot, now open year round and while some things have been updated we are still the same vision just 50 years down the road.
